 Lehigh River Clean Up Postponed until June! |

Good News! The LVKCC's Riverside Drive Lehigh River Clean-up initiative has been totally supported by Salisbury Township and Lehigh County. They are now 100% behind this clean-up project and will be bringing a number of other groups such as Fish and Boat, Audubon, App. Hiking Club, Norfolk Southern RR, Waste Management and others to assist with our effort. Yesterday they spent 3-4 hours walking in the proposed clean-up area.
Due to the inclusion of so many organizations and the need to do a total clean-up, they are asking us to delay our efforts to mid-late June. Bill and I will also work with National River Clean-up to enlist their support in our project. Once again, the LVKCC is at the forefront of a major project and the Lehigh Lovers is back! So, watch this space for updates and PLEASE join us in June! |

Please give us 2-3 hours of your energy and time on Saturday June 26 from 9-noon to begin the first part of the clean-up.Due to parking issues at the clean-up site, Constitution Dr, we will probably meet at the Sand Island put-in in Bethlehem and run a carload of eager workers to the site. Try to bring a pair of work gloves...wear long pants and long sleeves... coffee , do-nuts and water will be provided to the volunteers.  Watch this site for up-dates!
