SUP (Stand Up Paddling) is the fastest growing paddlesport today!
Join the Lehigh Valley Kayak & Canoe Club at the Wild Lands Conservancy on Thursday, February 2, at 7 PM to hear Mark (the Scotsman) Linn from Kiltsup Paddlesports tell us about the origins and latest developments in this new and exciting sport.
Mark is a 53 year old self employed chimney preservation specialist who had been paddling white water for 37 years, but then turned to SUP. He attributes his early SUP success to his experiences wake boarding, a bit of snowboarding, but mostly windsurfing and not falling of rooftops!
Considered a pioneer of standup paddle boarding on white water, Mark is committed to breaking the illusion that whitewater stand-up paddling is only for some naturally gifted athletes or freaks of nature. According to Mark, he was rather pathetic on the football field and basketball court but came into his own when he got into paddling. He is passionate about helping folks enjoy the river, their mode of river transport, and most of all showing everyone new and exciting ways to enjoy themselves on the river whenever possible.
There will be some refreshments and a Lehigh Valley Kayak and Canoe Club General Membership meeting following the presentation.
All are welcome! Hope to see you there!
