Introduction to Moving Water Kayaking
Lead Instructor: Scott Douglas – 40 years paddling experience. 10 years whitewater, ACA L4 Whitewater Kayaking Instructor
8 Sessions – Feb. 11,18,25 /March 4,11,18,25/ April 8
This course provides participants with the skills needed to safely paddle on a variety of rivers by learning how to: choose a boat and equipment, select the proper clothing, learn effective paddle and rescue techniques including the “Eskimo Roll”. This course includes both classroom instruction and pool practice sessions and is designed to be supplemented in the Spring and Summer with our “Beginners Series” of moving water outdoor classes. Previous experience helpful, but not required.
You must be a member of the Lehigh Valley Kayak and Canoe Club to take this class.
