PA Angler and Boating would like to interview a member for an article in their magazine… Not sure whom that would be… To Pat for action.
Fiddlers’ Elbow Slalom Race is on for Sept 25 & 26 2021.
Regarding the Larry March Slalom, Dan Rempp will contact Parks and Recreation Department of Allentown. Issue remains insurance for the event.
There was a request to post this years’ Lehigh River release dates. That has subsequently been done.
Education Report
Scott Douglas reported:
The 2020 Education Report was emailed out last week. It included a listing of current instructors and expiration of their certifications.

For 2021:
The draft 2021 Education Plan was read.
There will be no pool sessions offered due to cost.
Classes will include indoor and outdoor instruction.
Many of our usual classes will be offered: Beginner, Intermediate, Rolling, Coastal, and First Ad/CPR, etc. A canoeing class is in the draft plan.
Also ACA L1/?2 certifications and recertifications was discussed..
There will be a Zoom meeting January 14th at 7pm to discuss dates and details.
Budget request: Total of $3350. See breakdown in Education Report.

Reminder to send proposed club trip dates to Dan R by February for Beltzville and Nockamixon Lakes. Need specific dates and locations..
Dan Morton – Instagram discussion
Instagram is a picture and file sharing owned by Facebook. Suggest that an Instagram accounted be created by club with a camera shared by club members. Pictures be sent to one person who will post the pictures and comments. No charge for Instagram. Discussion on Instagram use. Gets shared by people of like interest including those not in the Club.

Proposed Budget for 2021
Rita Snyder produced a detailed spreadsheet of the proposed 2021 budget.
Went through line by line…
Discussion creating a Club card with a QR code so a prospective member can simply read the QR code and be directed to the Club website and membership information.
Made some modification: For example under Events added one line for Coastal Kayaking for Classroom supplies

Linda raised a question who among the new officers have access to Lehigh Valley Post Office Box on Brodhead St off 512.. It was noted we need to get the key back from Don Harris.
It was encouraged that one gets the COVID vaccine when available..Unknown when available to public…
Appreciation to Dave Dawson for the Treasurer’s guide he created.
Spring trip set up by Dave Dawson: Belleplain State Forest in South New Jersey. As of February 1 they would take reservations for a campground on May 14 through 17. Some cabins might be available… Lots of horseshoe crab and bird activity.
