Pat Beltz called the general membership meeting to order at 7: 20pm.
A motion was made to accept the May 6, 2021 general membership meeting minutes as posted on the club website.

Dan Rempp reported progress on the new page to cover Fitness and Cold Water Safety. The new page will include:
Donna Kohut is to provide “Yoga for Paddlers” video.
The “Kayak Fitness and Injury Prevention” Presentation by John Graham earlier this year.
Moulton Avery’s Cold Water presentations
Graphics are being added. Project will take some work.
Scott, Pat, Dan and Dave reported:
Moving water “pool” classes are complete!. 14 students graduated! Zoom and 6 hour classes on the water worked out well. We already have a waitlist for 16 more students (next year?)
Beginner Series on the Lehigh. 3 showed up on a wet cold day and did well. Second class this Sunday Weissport to Bowmanstown.
Several club members provided support to Boy Scout Camporee at Lake Towhee on May 23rd
Guide Class on May 30th was cancelled as only 2 signed up, but 4 were needed
Introduction to Recreational Kayaking – Dan Rempp reported 10 signed up and the class is full! with 4 on waitlist. 4 boats were donated. Class dates are June 5 (Pats’ Place) with Dan Rempp, Gery, Linda and Pat, June 6 (Preachers’ Camp) Linda and Dan Rempp, and 13th (day trip on Beltzville). Class outline has been sent out to students and instructors.. Zoom classes have been held.
Open Water Kayaking – Dave Dawson reported 9 students and 1 applicant. Started May 19th with a Zoom class. REMINDER: Boats must have valid stickers for Nockamixon. This weekend Saturday the 5th on Nockamixon.
ACA L1 class to be taught at Nockamixon 11 to 13 June. Looking for interest in an abbreviated L2 moving water upgrade workshop in Mid-July or mid-August.
Nine paddlers went to Stonyfest. There were several first descents. Hope to repeat this year with another trip
Beltzville May 22nd Long Boat Tryout
18 attendees. Many stayed all day.There were clinics. Pavilion 2 which is at the far west end of the lake was used and worked out well
Reminder that all boats must have a valid PA State Permit.
Non-members can come but they must join the day of the event if they want to participate.
Spring Trip – Dave Dawson reported: Belleplain, NJ. Birds, Crabs, Kayaking 40 people signed up! The group was split into 4 or 5 pods and went to different locations
Volunteer needed to support Rita and Bob.
Larry March Slalom 10, 11, 12th of September
Dan Rempp reported:
Will need help with the setup day 1. Friday
Practice is on Day 2. Saturday
Races are on Day 3. Sunday
This is usually a well-attended event. Not racing against others. Racing is against the clock.
Need to advertise for attendance.
Some gabions need work though they are serviceable.
Dan Rempp is still working on the setup.
Discussion on temporary gates setup for practice.
This is Dan Rempp’s last year so we are looking for someone to run this event next year. This person should shadow Dan Rempp this year so they can run it next year…
A motion was made to send a check of $100 will be sent to Jen Emery at the Bath Rod and Gun Club to reserve the Holiday Party on the Saturday December 4th.

Policy manual has been on the club website for review. Need vote from membership for approval at June Meeting.

Little Lehigh Practice for White Water boats
Must be members of LVKCC
Little Lehigh can be used for practice from May through end of June on Tuesday Night – 4pm – 7pm.
July and August practices will be at Marvin Gardens – again Tuesday night
4pm – 7pm.
Gery and Pat Removed the wood strainer by the one gabion
Walnutport Canal Festival
A question was raised on Walnutport Canal Festival as to whether it will be held this year. Prior years we have had a tent and offered paddles to the public. Our Club will
support this event to help Bob Brunda.
Typically 5 or 6 people staff our tent and paddle canoes in the canal.

Wildlands Conservancy, LOC are possibilities
Zoom App Renewal
Zoom is paid through June. Can go back to 40 minutes sessions. No videos from club saved. Decided to let Zoom account lapse and revive if needed.
A motion was made to allow Pat to book a pool at Rodale for January, February and March 2022 if available.
