NEW BUSINESS:
Scott Douglas made a motion to donate $250 to Friends of the Cheat with access remediation costs. MSP by Jim Schulte and Larry Palmer. Motion carried. Pat Beltz will make the payment via the Club’s PayPal account.
St. John U.C.C.’s Chapel—Rockport. Larry Palmer was contacted by church administrators who are looking for a non-profit organization to purchase this church for $1, since it is no longer being used. They asked Larry if he might help them locate the deed for the property. Our club could possible use the site for storage, etc. Scott mentioned starting a sub-committee under Larry to work on this project, e.g., Scott, Dan, and Pat Beltz,.
Youth Adventure Day – Blue Mountain Fish & Game Association – June 17th. Dan Rempp coordinated this Youth Day two years ago to teach kids how to paddle canoes. Hans has volunteered to help Dan; more volunteers are still needed. Volunteers will need Child Clearances {Contact Dan for forms}.
Pool Report. Linda Martin reported that we cannot use the Upper Bucks pool for our pool sessions this winter {and possibly next winter} since they’re redoing the Quakertown Y’s pool. We could possibly go back to Lafayette, although we’d have to cancel some sessions due to their holiday schedule; they also cannot handle the canoe classes. Main problem is they don’t take reservations until the Fall. Linda said we may be able to use Upper Perkiomen’s pool, which is near the Route 309 Quakertown’s intersection. If the Club wants her to check on other possibilities, she will need complete information, e.g., name, contact information, availability for 13 pool sessions; she will then secure the site. She wants to have an answer to present to the Club by the June 6th Swap Meeting.
Larry March Slalom {Penn Cup} – Sunday, September 10th. Dan Rempp reported that
Sandy Powell will not be able to act as Registrar this year; fortunately,
Scott Douglas has volunteered act as Registrar this year. Scott will contact scouts from Venture Crew 593 to see if they will again run the Food Tent this year.
