Pat Beltz called the general membership meeting to order at 7:20pm.
A motion was made to accept the April 1, 2021 general membership meeting minutes as posted on the club website.

Dan Rempp is working on the new page to cover Fitness and Cold Water Safety.
This is to include:
> The “Kayak Fitness and Injury Prevention” Presentation by John Graham earlier this year.
> Moulton Avery’s Cold Water presentations
Email from Rich Kilowick asking if there is any interest on whitewater and Wilderness classes on the Potomac.
Scott reported the next Class is the Guide Class on May 30th at 9am.
> Moving Water Class
Scott reported we are halfway through Moving Water class. Class 6 is planned at Pat’s Pond. Class 7 is a Zoom meeting. Class 8 will be held at Marvin Gardens or Little Lehigh depending on river level.
> Introduction to Recreational Kayaking – Dan Rempp 10 signed up, class is full! with 4 on waitlist. 4 boats were donated. REC boats must have valid boat stickers for Beltzville lake,
Class dates are June 5 (Pats’ Place), June 6 (Preachers’ Camp), and 13th (day trip on Beltzville). Class outline has been sent out to students and instructors..
> Open Water Kayaking – 9 students and 1 applicant. Starting May 19th with a Zoom class. REMINDER: Boats must have valid stickers for Nockamixon.
> Introduction to Moving Water Kayaking – JC Rankin
14 signed up 14 paid class is full. Waitlist of 14 people!
Beltzville May 22nd Long Boat Tryout
Members only. LOA and COI are completed. $25 Paid Members are asked to bring different long boats if you have them. There will be a Greenland paddle demo. Location is at Pavilion 2 at the far west end of the lake.
Reminder that all boats must have a valid PA State Permit.
Non-members can come but they must join the day of the event if they want to participate.
Volunteer needed to support Rita and Bob.
Larry March Slalom 10, 11, 12th of September
Dan Rempp reported we are good to go with race. COI approved.
Will need help with the setup.
This is Dan Rempp’s last year so we are looking for someone to run this event next year. This person should shadow Dan Rempp this year so they can run it next year…
Little Lehigh Practice for White Water boats – must be members of LVKCC
Little Lehigh can be used for practice from May through end of June on Tuesday Night – 4pm – 7pm.
July and August practices will be at Marvin Gardens – again Tuesday night
4pm – 7pm.
Dan Morton stated we would like a volunteer to speak to the public during the events to gain interest and members.
Several gabions were repaired by Pat, Eric, Dan M and Rita. A strainer is still present and needs to be removed – probably by May 18th.
Rita and Pat to send a request to Bath Rod and Gun Club. We need to provide the date and $100 to reserve the Holiday Party. It could be on December 3rd as this is the first Friday in December or Dec 4th which is a Saturday, We need a decision by end of June Meeting.
Swap Meet in June
Paddle Ledges at 5pm
Swap Meet at 4:30pm to 6:30pm. This gives the paddlers time to look at the items.
Will have pizza from Sals
Business mtg at 7pm at the Pavillon
Safety Boaters needed for May 22nd
Scott reported he is hosting a scouting event at Lake Towhee and is asking for 5 volunteers to act as safety boaters. Can be kayakers or canoeists.
Walnutport Canal Festival
A question was raised on Walnutport Canal Festival as to whether it will be held this year. Prior years we have had a tent and offered paddles to the public. Our Club will
support this event to help Bob Brunda.
Policy Committee – Dave Dawson (chairperson), Pat Beltz, Rita Snyder, Dan Morton and Sheldon Linn
– Policy manual completed. It is about 10 pages long. We will discuss at the next meeting for approval. It has been posted on the Website for club members to review, Questions should be sent to Dave Dawson so we can review prior to the meeting.
Spring Trip – Dave Dawson reported: Belleplain, NJ. Birds, Crabs, Kayaking 40 people signed up! Many sites reserved. There is camping only as there are no cabins available. Paddle trips have been planned in many estuaries and rivers. Monday will have a pre-sunrise paddle.
Program Committee – Sheldon and Gery. Should have speakers for October and November.
Hospitality Committee – Need a chairperson. Bob Brunda and Rita Snyder are current members. We are seeking additional members.

Trip/Calendar of Events Committee – Gery Kirkner
Club members are welcome to join the committees. If interested, contact a member of the committee.
Any member that feels a new committee should be formed can contact any member of the executive board. It will be discussed at the next club meeting.

June 3rd – 4:30 pm – 6:30pm – Swap Meet at Lehigh Gap Nature Center Pavilion
5 pm paddle the Ledges,
