The meeting opened with a presentation by Lisa Aderhold, Dave Dawson, Gery Kirkner and Sheldon Linn on their recent Rock Gardening adventure in Rhode Island.

President Linda Martin called the meeting to order at 8:08 pm
Secretary Report
Meeting minutes from the October General Membership meeting were approved and posted to the website. Members were asked if there were any corrections or additions required. Dan Rempp voiced an objection to the content of the Treasurers Report. After discussion, a motion was put forth to accept the October 2018 minutes as written.

Treasurer Report
Dave Dawson presented the LVCC Financial Report for October 2018 and a recap of finances for fiscal year 2017-2018. Details of all revenues, expenses and account balances for October 2018 were presented to the members and guests present as well as the totals for the year.
A motion was put forth to accept the September 2018 Financial Report as presented.

Membership Secretary Report
Pauls Rempp presented the following membership statistics:
- 35 individual dues paying members (+0)
- 226 families represented (+0)
- 1413 members on Facebook (+11)
- 993 members on Meetup (+7)
Webmaster Report
Dan Rempp reported the announcement of the 2018 Holiday Party and a PayPal link for payment would soon be posted on the club website. Individuals not using PayPal can send payment via US Mail to the club PO Box. All payments must be received one week before the date of the party. No payments will be accepted at the door.
Education Committee Report
Scott Douglas announced the Education Committee will be meeting November 9th @ 7:00 pm. A report of 2018 accomplishments and plans for 2019 will be prepared for presentation at the 2019 meeting.
The first-timers and intermediate Toh Fest trips scheduled for November 3-4 are posted on Facebook and Meetup. Openings are still available for both dates.
Team River Runner (TRR) Report
Jim Schulte reported that notifications for the winter pool sessions would soon be distributed via email.
Jim also announced a tentative schedule for the following classes, pending confirmation from Wildlands:
- CPR & First Aid January 12 or March 30
- Instructors Class January 25-27 or April 12-14
Hospitality Committee Report
Bob Brunda confirmed December 7th as the date of the 2018 Holiday Party to be hosted at the Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club in Northampton and catered by Mission BBQ.
Bylaws Committee
Larry Palmer presented a motion on behalf of the Bylaws Committee to change the start of the fiscal year from November 1 to the start of the calendar year. The following section of the Bylaws will read as follows:
Article VIII. Fiscal Year
The Fiscal Year of the LVKCC shall begin on January 1st of each year.
The proposed change will be posted for a minimum of 30 days and a vote to accept the change will be taken at a future meeting.

Walnutport Festival
Bob Brunda announced this year’s Walnutport Festival was a success. Members that helped with this year’s event included Bob Brunda, Jim Schulte, Sharon Karpizan, Linda A. Martin, Bill Smith, Marv Honeywell,Dave Frei, Scott Douglas, Paula and Dan Rempp.
Winter Pool Sessions – Lafayette
Lafayette College approached LVKCC with the desire to hold a lifeguard training event. Jim Schulte will lead the training to be scheduled Sunday, November 18 pending confirmation from Lafayette. LVKCC volunteers to assist in the training were selected at the meeting.
Scott Douglass inquired about printing tri-fold brochures to help advertise the pool sessions like what was done in the past.
There was a recommendation to have a member act as Leaf Monitor and ensure all boats and gear are clean of debris prior to pool entry. There was a suggestion to bring a shop-vac to assist in boat cleaning. Dan Morton volunteered for the first pool session.
New Business
Dan Rempp made a motion to address the content of the Treasurers Report as reported in the September 2018 minutes. The revised report will read as follows:
Larry Palmer presented Dave Dawson’s LVCC Financial Report for September 2018.
Club expenses for the month totaled $4,595.36.
- Enter.net web hosting $299.40
- 1244 Lafayette College – 50% pool deposit $3,814.00
- Constant Contact – annual fee $481.96

2019 Executive Committee Meeting
Paula and Dan Rempp graciously offered to host the 2019 meeting at their home on Saturday, January 12. Details will be communicated at a later date.
Nominations – Slate of Officers
Hans Wagner asked the membership if there were any additional nominations for executive officers. None were received.
