A motion was made to accept the June 2nd meeting minutes and June 9th Executive Meeting minutes as posted on the club website.

Dan Morton reported the six month financial review was completed and documented as per our by-laws.

Webmaster’s Report

Dan Rempp reported our website needs to be updated. Our provider Enter.net reported malware on August 21st. We were warned that we need to get an upgrade for security.  Fee is $1250.00.  Website will be hosted for 12 months for free which is worth about $300. We can still add our content. Offer good til September 4th.

Discussion on security followed with many comments and questions.  Elissa volunteered to ask technical questions.

A motion was made to approve the security upgrade and over the next year investigate options.

Education Instructor Coordinator Report 

Pat reported: 

11 finished Moving water class. Some went too Mongaup. 

13 sessions were held on the Little Lehigh since last meeting

Dan Morton reported Scott voiced his concerns on instructor committee at an Executive Board Meeting on June 9. No changes were made to the policy

T shirt Update

New shirts, hats and a few mugs are now in storage in our trailer. Shirts are $25 each. Hats $15. Mugs $5. New club stickers are free.

Permanent Home for Boats Committee

Trailer has been moved to its new home at the Lehighton Outdoor Center  Old rims were re-sold.

Please ask Jerry at the LOC for permission to go in the gated area.

Budget lines for the LOC rental need to be added for next years’ budget.

Larry March Slalom Race on 9, 10 and 11 September

Skip & Gery are running this annual 3 day event. We need volunteers for this event: setup, timers, gate watchers, record keepers and teardown.

Will need help with setup on Friday September 9th, the Kayak and Canoe slalom race clinic on September 10th,  and especially on the Kayak and Canoe Race Day on  September 11. See our Club website, Meetup page and the Penn Cup website.

Beginners class will be informed of this event.

Fall Trip

Fall trip is October 14 to 17 to Camp Arrowhead Rehobeth Bay, Delaware. Emails sent out and event posted. Over 20 have signed up.

New Business

Walnutport Canal Festival

Bob Brunda reported the Walnutport Canal Festival is October 16th – same weekend as Fall trip. Several of our Club have volunteered to represent our Club and are to be there at 10am. This event will be posted on our Meetup page.

Nominations Committee

Pat reported there are several openings. Dan Rempp and Nickole Atkins volunteered to reach out and find volunteers for open positions.

Bob Brunda was appointed to fill the remainder of the year Member-at-Large

Pool Committee

Will return to Rodale Aquatic Center for 2023! We will have the large pool, the small pool, locker rooms, lobby and classrooms.

The sessions are on every Saturday from January 7th to March 4th. The January 7 and 14th sessions and will be abbreviated  8:30am-11:30am. The remainder of the session will be from 8:30am to 1:00pm.

Will be working with the Education Committee to set up detailed schedule. Clarification on pool availability to non-class participants will be provided at the October meeting 

Cost is $150 per hour. We will have 42 hours spread over the 10 sessions. Total cost is $6300.

A motion was made to approve the 10 sessions as described.

Holiday Party in December

December 3rd at East Bath Rod and Gun Club! Fairview is repeating as our caterer.  Details to follow.

Team River Runners

TRR was held at Rodale was on June 3rd. 

Jill reported they went to Lake Minsii and will be at Tohickon Boat Launch at Lake Nockamixon on Wednesday September 7th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
