Tuesday evenings on the Little Lehigh, May 14 -June 25. Join an informal group to practice eddy turns, peel outs, ferries and other maneuvars at an easy park-and-play section of the Little Lehigh. An instructor or support paddler will be there 5 -7 pm. For weather cancellation, check the Club’s Facebook page. WHERE: Little Lehigh Creek Practice Area GPS Coordinates:  40.5764749,  -75.4968328 OR 2000 Park Drive  Allentown, PA OR From I-78 Head south on PA-29 S (Cedar Crest Blvd.) go 0.3 mi  "Stop Light"  should be 2nd traffic light Turn left onto Fish Hatchery Rd  GO 1.1 mi  "Stop Light” Turn left onto Oxford Dr  GO 0.2 mi Bear right onto Park Dr and follow winding road to Parking Lot.

Be ready to paddle at 6pm at Leaser Lake West launch, 8501 Follweiler Court, Kempton, PA. This is an easy evening paddle of about 4 miles around the lake. Recreational kayaks, canoes or sea kayaks are welcome. PFD with whistle is required. No cotton clothing. Dress for immersion. Bring a head lamp. It may come in handy. Must have launch permit sticker for PA State Parks/Fish Commission access. There are bathrooms at this launch.

LEHIGH RIVER SECTION 3: Glen Onoko to Weissport Join the Lehigh Valley Kayak and Canoe for a run on section three of the Lehigh Gorge from Glen Onoko to Weissport. You should have experience paddling in Class II+ rapids. You should also have done a wet exit and know how to swim in moving water. You must provide your own equipment. You will need a whitewater kayak, paddle, PFD with a whistle, spray skirt, helmet, water and a snack. If you have a throw rope and know how to use it, bring that too. Whitewater canoeists, and whitewater IK‘s are also welcome! Trip size limited to 10 people. We will meet in the parking lot closest to the bridge that crosses the river. at 9 am. Be ready to run the shuttle at 10 AM. If I have any questions about your skill level, I will contact you. Please be prepared to tell me where you have paddled and if you have paddled with any member of the Lehigh Club who could vouch for your skill level. If I feel we do not have enough skilled boaters to run the trip safely, it will be canceled.
